Unfortunately, due to new requirements from Gov. Wolf’s office and the rising cases of Covid-19 in our state and county, the Bedford Area School District will be moving to full virtual instruction beginning next week. It is unknown at this point how long this change will last, but the health of our students and staff is always the number one priority of the school district. Students should take home all belongings today.
As your principal, I am extremely proud of your performance during the past several months. Due to the cooperation between students and staff, the hybrid model of instruction has been very successful. So now I am asking that we all commit to that same level of cooperation during these next several weeks of full virtual instruction. Students, you MUST continue to check Schoology several time a day, EVERY DAY. You MUST communicate to your teachers using Schoology, email, or whatever means you desire if you are confused about school work, experiencing social problems, or simply need to connect. We learned last spring that it is critical you stay in contact with us and keep up with your work. I’m asking you to do your part and do your best…..your honest best. I do not like this change any more than you do, but it will pass and before long we will be looking back at COVID-19 as a distant memory. Let’s work hard so that we can look back with pride and know that we were determined and strong.
There will be more information released on the webpage, but for now, I want to wish all of you a wonderful holiday season. Be smart and safe around others and know that the BMS staff is here for you and thinking of you.
