If you are looking for ideas on what to do with the kids this summer here are some opportunities.
BMS Summer Camp
BMS is hosting a FREE summer camp for incoming 6th - 12th grade students during the month of June. Each week will be themed with activities, guest speakers, and weekly field trips. The program will run Monday - Thursday 8:30- 2:30. Come join us as we explore The Great Outdoors, Natural Wonders, Travel and Transportation and Animals. Each day will include a free breakfast, lunch and transportation. Be sure to sign up to reserve your spot.
STEAM Summer Enrichment Camp
The Bedford County 21st Century Community Learning Centers Consortium will once again sponsor a FREE summer STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) camp at the Bedford County Technical Center in June and July 2022 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. This camp is open to incoming 6th through 12th grade students. Each day students will participate in a morning and an afternoon session on different topics, including music, stained glass, nutrition, drama, Escape Room challenges, sports and other STEM activities.
Summer Parks and Rec Mini Camp
The annual Summer Parks and Rec program will take place again during the month of June. The cost is $15.00. Some of the activities include: Tennis, golf, bowling, football, soccer, wrestling, cooking, arts and crafts, and dance. These forms and money are due by Friday, May 20th. Forms can be found on the front table in the lobby.
Starting in 7th Grade if you would like to participate in a Junior High Sport you will need a physical completed. The school will be doing next year's PIAA Sports Physicals on June 15th, 2022 between 11:00am-4:00pm at the Bedford High School Cafeteria and Nurses Office. These physicals will be done through the Hyndman Health Center. The cost is $20 per athlete and we will accept checks (made out to Bedford Athletics) or cash. Athletes should bring their completed forms and money to school by Friday, May 27th. Forms can be found on the front table in the lobby.
Youth Field Day
Bedford County Sportsmen’s Club is holding Youth Field Day on Saturday, June 4th. Space is limited. Activities include, shotgun, archery, fishing, canoeing, trapping, and ATV Safety. Questions call Chad at 814-847-2558. Click here to register.
