The Bedford Area School District will have a virtual day for all students on Friday, February 12, 2021. The reason for the virtual day is the district and the Hyndman Area Health Center are administering the Covid-19 vaccine to approximately 160 staff members at a rate of 24 individuals every hour. In addition to the vaccinations, it is also necessary to provide time to observe staff members for possible side effects. It is well-documented side effects occur at a higher rate after the 2nd dose. Given the total number of individuals involved in this event and the disruptions to education, transportation, and food service, the Bedford Area School District will have a virtual learning day on Friday, February 12, 2021.
