Student Guide: Prepare your iPad for Collection

Get Ready for your new iPad.

Prepare for your new iPad by ensuring your pictures and files are safely backed up to the cloud. Follow these directions to get everything ready for your new device.

Step 1

Sign in to your Managed Apple ID:

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap “Sign in to your iPad”

  3. Tap “Sign in Manually” and enter your District Email as the Apple ID, click next

  4. Click Continue on the “Apple ID for Bedford Area School District” page

  5. You will be redirected to a Google login screen and your email should be prepopulated. If not, type it in then tap Next.

  6. Enter your email password, then tap Next

  7. Tap Merge to Merge with iCloud (This only happens the first time you log in)

Step 2.

After signing in to your managed Apple ID, do the following to activate iCloud syncing. This ensures that your Notability notes will be automatically saved to the cloud and ready to be transferred to your new iPad when you receive it

  1. Open your Notability App

  2. Tap the gear icon (top left)

  3. Tap on iCloud (left menu) 

  4. Tap iCloud Syncing

Step 3: Complete this step to save any photos or files to your Google Drive account.

Before proceeding with these steps, ensure you are logged in to your Google Drive account via the app.

  1. Open your photos app.

  2. Select the photos you want to back up by tapping on them.

  3. Tap on the “Share Icon” button in the bottom left corner. 

  4. Then tap on the Google Drive icon. 

  5. Tap “UPLOAD”   (You will see a progress bar for each file uploading)
