A comprehensive physical must be performed by a physician on or after June 1 for an athlete to compete in PIAA sports next year. Physicians have indicated to us that they have very little room in their summer appointment schedule so we have contracted Hyndman Health Center to come to the Bedford High School to perform the physicals. If you would like to take advantage of this service, you will need to complete the parent/student section of the PIAA physical form, (section 1-7).  This year we are offering one date – Thursday, June 8th from 10:00a.m - 3:00p.m. with Bedford Family Health Center for $20.00.

Athletes can come at any time between 10:00 a.m. – 3:00p.m. In order to get your physical, the forms must be filled out in advance and you have $20.00 cash or a checkChecks should be made out to Bedford Athletics. The physicals will occur in the high school nurse's office located just inside the high school café doors.

These physicals will be good for the entire school year unless an athlete suffers an injury that results in a loss of 2 weeks or more playing/practice time. Please make sure you sign beside all sports, your child is considering, for the school year.

In addition, the Bedford School District Code of Conduct form must be signed on the front and back by you and your child and turned in before they are able to participate.

Remember that no athlete will be able to participate in practice beginning in August until the proper paperwork has been turned in to his or her coach or athletic director.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Bret Smith at 623-4250 ext. 1160.
