Students got to experience the legislative process with State Senator Pat Stefano and his staff, who represents Bedford as part of the 32nd senatorial district in the Pennsylvania State Senate. They were able to debate legislation in committee assignments, with students from other schools in Senator Stefano's district, and ultimately decide to advance the legislation to the General Assembly or let the legislation die in committee. They then were able to debate the legislation in front of every student on the field trip, and ultimately decide to pass the legislation or vote against it.
