The Bedford Area School District received important news on Friday afternoon. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court vacated the Health Department’s mask mandate effective immediately. Given this change, masks will be voluntary inside and outside all school buildings and events for students, staff and visitors. At this time, the Federal Government is still requiring masks on all public transportation, including school busses. Also, we are still required to do contact tracing. It is our hope the Supreme Court’s decision is the beginning of a swing back to greater local control, which will enhance our ability to govern and manage your local schools.
