Bedford Golf 2019
Season Recap
Regardless of who is returning, or who is new, each year the goal is to win a district championship and advance individuals to the regional tournament. While we fell short in the team component of that goal this year, there is no reason to hang our head over a 12-4 record that saw many outstanding individual performances.
Seniors
Kaden Anderson
Rachael Feaster
Gavin Habinyak
Drew Hall
Brett Predix
Jared Turner
Joey Windows
Over the last two seasons our starting lineup was comprised mostly of this group of seniors and they compiled a record of 23-8. Despite the lack of a district title for their efforts, I would not trade this group for four district titles and will cherish the fun times and memories that we have built over the last four years.
Regionals
Congratulations to Jared Turner (3rd) and Matt Tokarczyk (1st) for advancing to the regional tournament, which will be played at Tom’s Run on October 15th. The tournament will consist of a field of 44 players with 22 advancing to the state tournament held at Heritage Hills CC in York, PA.
Matt is playing lights out right now and had success in his practice round for regionals, which should only help his confidence. If he continues to putt well I have high hopes of him advancing. As for Jared, he is in a bit of a slump right now. However, it says something about Jared as a player that his “slump” was still good enough for 3rd place at the district tournament. I expect him to draw on his experience gained at Tom’s Run last year and make another run at qualifying for the state tournament.
