Thanks to Mr. Thompson and the Safe and Drug Free Schools funding, BHS SADD had the opportunity to attend the Altoona Curve Education day in April to share the dangers and effects of alcohol, smoking, and vaping while enjoying a baseball game.
SADD was also joined by senior winners of multiple Pride and/or Grit awards during their time at BHS.
The members of SADD set up a table in the concourse displaying the tobacco affected pig lungs, ingredients of a vape, and offered the opportunity to experience the impairment goggles.
The SADD mascot, Ciggy Butt, also represented BHS SADD during the 5th inning meatball race. His poor lungs caused him to go down halfway through and the Curve Mascot, LOCO, did not allow him to the finish the race.
