The Bison Weekend Backpack Committee held a Stuff the Bus event at Weis Markets on Saturday, November 4th to help collect monetary and non-perishable food items. Each weekend the program distributes 1,200 food items and is currently serving 150 students across the district. Bedford High School Students and Staff volunteered their time to collect donations and provide information about the program.
We would like to thank Katie Bullington for her efforts in talking to area businesses to raise awareness for the event; and Kevin Diehl, of Ariel Communications, who started a social media campaign to raise funds. Through their efforts the program will be receiving substantial donations that will help fund the program for the current school year. We are so grateful for the generosity of our community and the outpouring of support we received.
