PAJCL (PENNSYLVANIA JUNIOR CLASSICAL LEAGUE)

The purpose of the National Junior Classical League, and in extension, the PA Junior Classical League, is to encourage an interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome, and to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of Classical antiquity. Students in PAJCL attend a convention in Stage College over a weekend in May to meet and compete with other Latin students from around PA. There are many types of Latin based competitions including: written test competitions; sports; certamen (Latin themed quiz bowl); art; writing; public speaking. There is something for everyone at PAJCL. PAJCL is open to all current Latin students at Bedford High School.
